Are you looking for comfort and ease for your Homestay visit to the gorgeous sunny Eastern Bay of Plenty? Are you looking for a place to stay for your weekend away: a place to celebrate a special occasion; a fun weekend at a local sporting event in Whakatane or just a plain weekend of fun for you? Or are you a territory manager or company rep wanting to stay at a home away from home and be treated to fantastic home cooking in comfortable surroundings, rather than impersonal accommodation in town?Bev Palmer has created a roomy, warm and welcoming space within her home for you to stay. And she tells the story about how her Homestay came to be called The Purple Chickens Homestay. Bev’s granddaughter Holly, who lives in Auckland, and is now 8 was your typical gorgeous enquiring child. When she was two, Holly began saying “Whakatane Nanny, what are those purple chickens?”… and she was referring of course to our lovely native Pukeko. Bev’s home, cooking and sharing her environment with anyone who comes across her path is her love. So feel safe and warm and know that your vehicle is safe in the convenient off street parking, just outside the door. The Purple Chickens Homestay is within walking distance of the Whakatane town centre…. Just a 20 minute walk down the hill and you will find some gorgeous café’s, lovely shopping and all the services you may need for your one or more night stay with Bev. And if you prefer, jump into your car and be in the town centre in two minutes. In less than 5 minutes travel across the hill to Ohope, with more lovely café’s, fabulous art galleries and a sleepy seaside village atmosphere. Bev’s cooking is food cooked with love. If you enjoy a lovely home cooked meal with dessert to follow you can have this and if you have specific needs such as vegetarian or something special you would love to have do just ask Bev, she will be happy to oblige. Evening meals are by arrangement so you will need to organise this when you book your stay at the gorgeous Purple Chickens Homestay in Whakatane. Bev welcomes people to her home from all walks of life, so give her a call to discuss your wonderful visit to the gorgeous sunny eastern Bay of Plenty. |
